Tip Tuesday – Ironing Seams

happy-tuesdayIt’s time for another Sewing Tip Tuesday. Today we are going to talk about the importance of ironing your seams open when sewing. The first obvious benefit is ease of sewing when the seam is ironed open. In addition the garment itself is going to look a lot better when the seam is pressed open. With the seam ironed open you will be able to identify any problems with the seam itself or any other sewing errors that there might be. Occasionally we all catch something in the seam that doesn’t belong there. By taking the time to press the seams open you will catch that little mistake long before you are putting the finishing touches on the garment. So remember to take the time to iron open your seams, you will be happy that you did.
