Tip Tuesday – See the Light!

lampOur sewing tip today is again short but important. We are going to talk about lighting when you are sewing. It is very important that you make sure there is good light when you are sewing. Even if you have a window, you still need to have a lamp of some type nearby. The light on your machine is usually not enough. If it is stormy outside or a cloudy day, a window is not a lot of help and a lamp is going to be necessary. Having a lamp will reduce eye strain and help prevent headaches as well. In addition, it is a lot easier to see what you are sewing and to sew something correctly the first time when you have adequate lighting. Don’t be afraid to invest in a good desk lamp or standing lamp of some kind. The good lamps you can buy in the sewing stores are wonderful if you can afford them, but you don’t have to have them. Just a standard lamp will do to help you see better.
